We are pleased to finally release the 2.2.7 version of OpenEMPI. The new release includes many new features some of which are listed below:
- Support for the IHE PIX/PDQ profiles including both HL7 version 2 and version 3 implementations. The PIX/PDQ implementation was tested for compliance against the IHE profile specifications at the North American Connectathon help in Chicago in January of 2013 and successfully passed all the tests. The PIX/PDQ support in OpenEMPI is based on the OpenPIXPDQ framework so, the PIX/PDQ implementation may be used with other EMPIs through the implementation of an appropriate adapter.
- A new flexible file loader has been developed that no longer relies on the input files to have a fixed format. The user may specify the mapping between the input file and the OpenEMPI data model and the file loader will import the data.
- A number of performance enhancements have been added to the latest version of OpenEMPI covering all areas of operation. The process of loading data into OpenEMPI has been enhanced through a multi-threaded file loader. The processing of transactional requests of all types have been sped up after many iterations of load testing and profiling the code to eliminate as many bottlenecks as possible.
